Assumptions: Kaguya Clan may be a descendant of Hamura Ōtsutsuki.
Hagoromo teamed up with Hamura to defeat the Jūbi and seal their own mother, Princess Kaguya Ōtsutsuki. Comparing the brothers side by side as shown in Ch 681, it may be evident that Hagoromo's Rinnegan is dark where Hamura's Byakugan is light.

As per usual, suppose the dōjutsu are the "dots" of the taijitu symbol. It may appear that:
Hagoromo may be Yang where Hamura may be Yin.
Important Note: This may happen only when the brothers are viewed together.
Important Note: This may happen only when the brothers are viewed together.
As separate individuals, both Hagoromo and Hamura may still be symbolized by Yin and Yang (perhaps exceptions, since characters usually may either be predominantly Yin or predominantly Yang). With bases on their descendants:
Hagoromo's Descendants Inclined, but not limited, to: Ninjutsu Hagoromo's YIN
inner Yang: Life Force
inner Yang: Life Force **Water is the nature chakra common to Hashirama and Tobirama
inner Yang: Life Force The Uzumaki Sealing Technique resembled the carapace of a tortoise/turtle. Genbu, guardian of the north, symbolizes Yin. |
Hamura's Descendants Inclined, but not limited, to: Taijutsu Hamura's YIN
inner Yang: Byakugan Gentle Fist is Yin (as opposed to Strong Fist, Yang). This taijutsu is performed in combination with the kekkei genkai, Byakugan. |
Hagoromo's YANG
inner Yin: Sharingan *Chakra should be viewed in correlation to the Body (not as two energies).
inner Yin: Sharingan |
Hamura's YANG
inner Yin: Shikotsumyaku In theory, "brute" (Yang) is only used to describe Kimimaro Kaguya's fighting style. This taijutsu is performed in combination with the kekkei genkai, Shikotsumyaku. Shikotsumyaku is considered an inner Yin because of its use of the skeletal system. Generally, the 'Body' is Yin. If broken down further, however, bones (cool) may be Yin where muscles (warm) may be Yang. |
Notably, the inner Yin and the inner Yang aforementioned are kekkei genkai, with the exception of Ashura and his descendants. While the latter do not have a kekkei genkai passed from one generation to the next (Hashirama Senju's Wood Style was his own), their Life Force have been consistently distinct.
Combining these characteristics, the respective inner Yin and the inner Yang of the descendants, may lead to:
• Where Hagoromo is to Naruto as Hamura is to Sasuke •
Fighting the Jūbi and sealing the revived Princess Kaguya may prove to be a problem to the current shinobi. Because if their descendants were to go by, Hamura's side may be incapacitated, leaving Hagoromo's side to fulfill the job.
Said job may be relied upon Hagoromo's sons' incarnates, Naruto and Sasuke. A parallelism of Hagoromo and Hamura to Naruto and Sasuke has been depicted also in Ch 681 (this panel appeared below the Ōtsutsuki brothers).

If Hagoromo is Yang and Hamura is Yin when put together, this may appear to be in contrast with the theory that Naruto may be Yin and Sasuke may be Yang.
Here, the emphasis may not be looking at Naruto as Yin and Sasuke as Yang, but looking at the powers within.
• The Descendants, Sasuke Retrieval Arc •
In Part I, Hamura's descendants were among the strongest of their generation:
- Neji Hyūga
The Hyūga blood flows thicker in his veins than in anyone else's. - Hiashi Hyūga, Ch 099. |
The strongest school of taijutsu in Konoha... I've mentioned it before, I'm sure that the strongest junior ninja is a member of my own team! |
But I doubt that, against a fighter like Neji, even our own Sasuke would prevail. - Kakashi Hatake, Ch 079. |
- Kimimaro Kaguya
You rescued the youngest and most promising of the lot. - Kabuto Yakushi to Orochimaru, Ch 216. |
Those strong, firm bones... A defensive skill to fend physical blows of any form. His offense is excellent... He can turn his bones into pikes. |
He was the one I wished for in my heart... The least likely to be destroyed. - Orochimaru, Ch 201. |
In Part II, Hagoromo's descendants have improved by leaps and bounds. Granted Kimimaro had died due to illness, hence, comparison may be difficult to prove. However, compared to a vast majority, Naruto and Sasuke's abilities are monumental even without being incarnates of Ashura and Indra, respectively.
That Naruto-Sasuke may be stronger than Neji-Kimimaro may not come off as a big surprise. Little is known about Hamura but Hagoromo may just be stronger than his brother because he still is, in fact, the Sage of Six Paths.
On a side note, it may be interesting that, familial relations aside, a 'shuffle' of Hagoromo and Hamura's descendants was shown in the Sasuke retrieval arc.
