• 01: Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki / Sage of Six Paths as Ninigi no Mikoto •
Ninigi-no-Mikoto
Ninigi no mikoto was sent from the heavens to pacify Japan.
|
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki
"Long ago, people were always at war. There was
no end to it... Then a single Priest appeared. He was the first to
divine the true meaning of chakra, and he lead the world to
peace... That Priest is known as the Sage of Six Paths. They called him
the Messiah... 'I am here to provide peace and order', he said..." - Jiraiya, Ch 446
|
With him are the Three Treasures:
Kusanagi no tsurugi Yata no kagami Yasakani no magatama Ninigi no mikoto chose the younger daughter (Konohanasakuya-hime) over the elder daughter (Iwanaga-hime) in marriage. Because of this, Iwanaga-hime cursed their descendants with short life. Curse of Short Life |
Hagoromo bore the Rinnegan and also wielded:
Sword Shakujo Yasakani no magatama Hagoromo chose the younger son (Ashura) over the elder son (Indra) as his successor. Because of this, Indra harbored the curse of hatred against Ashura. Curse of Hatred |
Hence,
Ninigi no Mikoto
Iwanaga-hime Konohanasakuya-hime |
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki / Sage of Six Paths
Indra, Uchiha ancestor Ashura, Senju ancestor |
The Prophecy
"In my dream, you, who are solely pervy, will still manage to become a splendid shinobi. And will come to stand on your own feet, acquiring disciples... One such disciple will one day bring about a great change to the world of shinobi... either great stability or great destruction... the likes of which this world has never seen before." - Great Toad Sage, Ch 376
• 02: Nagato / Sage of Six Paths Incarnate as Ninigi no Mikoto •
Ninigi-no-Mikoto
Ninigi no mikoto was sent from the heavens to pacify Japan.
|
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki
Hagoromo brought forth peace and order.
|
Nagato
Believed peace cannot exist in the
cursed world. |
Ninigi no Mikoto had Three Sacred Treasures: Kusanagi no tsurugi Yata no kagami Yasakani no magatama |
Hagoromo bore the Rinnegan and also wielded: Sword Shakujo Yasakani no Magatama |
Nagato bore the Rinnegan |
Upon his descent unto Japan, Ninigi no Mikoto was said to have staked Ama no Sakahoko on Mt. Takachiho in Hyuga Province (present-day Miyazaki Prefecture). (image source: geocities.co.jp)
|
While the three-pronged spear does not appear in the manga, it may instead be epitomized on the cover of chapter 441, titled Rasenshuriken vs Shinra Tensei!! On the cover, Hinata as a Hyuga, coincides with the fact that Mt. Takachiho is in Hyuga Province.
The significance of the three spears in the background may convey that Ninigi no Mikoto has descended. Note that this same chapter, as the title gives away, includes the fight of Naruto and Nagato (as Pain). |
Ninigi no Mikoto's descent was also made on on a particularly foggy day, making it difficult for him to see his surroundings. Some of the *locals around suggested that Ninigi no Mikoto, using the ears of rice he brought with him, can scatter the grains on the ground to lift the fog. *Locals are theoretically assumed to be the people of Hyuga. |
Instead of working out with the Hyuga, Pain stabbed Hinata. |
Hence, where Nagato is the Sage of Six Paths' Incarnate,
Ninigi no Mikoto
Iwanaga-hime Konohanasakuya-hime |
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki
Indra, Uchiha ancestor Ashura, Senju ancestor |
Nagato
Obito Uchiha Naruto Uzumaki |
• 03: Obito Uchiha / Pseudo-Sage of Six Paths as Ninigi no Mikoto •
Ninigi-no-Mikoto
Ninigi no mikoto was sent from the heavens to pacify Japan.

Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki
Hagoromo brought forth peace and order.

Obito
Believed peace can only be achieved through a world of illusion.

Ninigi no Mikoto's descent upon Mt. Takachiho in Hyuga Province (present-day Miyazaki Prefecture) was made on on a particularly foggy day, making it difficult for him to see his surroundings. Obito summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path which later turned into the Ten Tailed Beast. The Ten Tailed Beast killed Neji in an attempt to protect Hinata and Naruto from its attacks. |
Hence, where Obito is the Pseudo-Sage of Six Paths,
Ninigi no Mikoto
Iwanaga-hime Konohanasakuya-hime |
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki
Indra, Uchiha ancestor Ashura, Senju ancestor |
Obito
Madara Uchiha Naruto Uzumaki |
Condensing the previous parallelisms:
Ninigi no Mikoto
Iwanaga-hime Konohanasakuya-hime |
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki
Indra, Uchiha ancestor Ashura, Senju ancestor |
Nagato
Obito Uchiha Naruto Uzumaki |
Obito
Madara Uchiha Naruto Uzumaki |
Based on these, Naruto may be held in the same regard as Younger Son, Ashura - the successor of the Sage of Six Paths.
• 04: Naruto Uzumaki / Successor of the Sage of Six Paths as Ninigi no Mikoto •
Ninigi no Mikoto
|
Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki
Hagoromo is both Yin and Yang. His sons each inherited half of what he was,
but at the same time choosing the younger Ashura to be his successor. Theoretical family tree, more on: Rikudou Sennin, Uchiha and Senju. |
Naruto Uzumaki
Naruto is theoretically Yin while Kurama's chakra sealed within him is Yang.
Hence, Naruto successfully tapping onto the Nine Tails chakra, becomes both Yin and Yang. Naruto as Yin, more on: Naruto x Sasuke: Bonds. |
Amaterasu sent Ninigi no mikoto from the heavens, with the Three Sacred Treasures,
to pacify Japan. |
Itachi Uchiha gave Naruto some of his power. That is, a crow with Shisui Uchiha's left eye.
Shisui's eye is capable of Koto amatsukami, an illusion technique that allows the user to manipulate the mind of an opponent.
The eye given to Naruto responds when confronted with Itachi's eyes, and will give the order to "protect Konoha". Initially intended for use against Sasuke (should he implant Itachi's eyes to gain Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan and attack Konoha), Koto amatsukami was instead used on Itachi himself when his revived self (by Kabuto's edo tensei) fought against Naruto. Itachi as Amaterasu may be read on: Sasuke x Hinata: Shinto Trinity. |
Ninigi had the Three Sacred Treasures: |
Hagoromo bore the Rinnegan and wielded: |
Naruto may (figuratively, in some cases) wield: |
Kusanagi no tsurugi
|
Sword
|
Sword through Wind Release - activation of the Wind type of chakra requires a user to imagine splitting his chakra into two and grinding them unto each other as if sharpening a blade in between
|
Yata no kagami
|
Shakujo (monk's staff) - used as a weapon or in prayer. The jingling of the rings may alert others of the presence of the monk, or warn animals; the shakujo is also believed to expell demons
|
Shakujo through his ability to be amicable with the Tailed Beasts - in the event of sealing the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox with torii, Kurama made an inference that the seal(?) is that of the Sage of Six Paths
|
Yasakani no magatama
|
Yasakani no Magatama
|
Yasakani no Magatama through the necklace of jewels he wears in the Nine Tails Chakra and Tailed Beast Modes.
|
Note that Takachiho (高千穂), literally means thousand ears (grains) at the peak. |
Hinata, written as 雛田, literally means Princess Rice Field. |
Ninigi no Mikoto chose the younger Konohanasakuya-hime over the elder Iwanaga-hime in marriage. |
Hagoromo chose the younger Ashura over the elder Indra as his successor. |
Naruto and Sasuke became Ashura's and Indra's reincarnations, respectively. In this manner, Naruto may also become the successor of the Sage of Six Paths.
|
Sakura Haruno as Konohanasakuya-hime
Konohanasakuya-hime
Konohanasakuya-hime is written as 木之花開耶姫 or 木花開耶姫.
The name literally means, blossoming flower of the tree. |
Sakura
In Part I, Ino Yamanaka likened Sakura to a flower bud that has yet to blossom.
In Part II, Sakura has proven to be an exceptionally skilled medic-nin. In the 4th Shinobi War, Sakura proved that she was finally able to catch up to Naruto and Sasuke.
|
Ninigi no Mikoto further mentioned that the child must be the offspring of another kami. This enraged Konohanasakuya-hime that she decided to enter a doorless hut and set fire to it. She vowed that if Ninigi no Mikoto were the father, the child will be left unharmed. Konohanasakuya-hime safely gave birth to triplets as Ninigi no Mikoto admitted he actually believed her in the first place but that he intentionally angered her to prove to people that the child was his. |
Naruto believes Sakura has always loved Sasuke. While his reaction enraged Sakura, however, her true feelings remain unclear. Sasuke as Susanoo may be read on:
Sasuke x Hinata: Shinto Trinity. |
Konohanasakuya-hime is symbolized by the cherry blossom. |
Sakura, literally, means cherry blossom. |
