Important Notes:
- The speculation behind the formation of Team Hawk (also Team Snake) will be based on The Four Celestial Emblems.
- PART I covers information prior to the release of Databook IV.
PART II covers information from Databook IV.
PART I
- Yin
Full Yin: Black Tortoise of the North
Jūgo was stationed in Orochimaru's Northern Hideout.
New Yin: White Tiger of the West
The White Tiger is associated to the Chinese element of Metal.
Suigetsu had initially intended to collect all the weapons of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist and,
at one point, wielded Zabuza Momochi's Executioner's Blade. In this manner, Suigetsu may be
associated to Metal but in a more figurative, non-elemental approach.
*Wind, theoretically, is its Japanese counterpart and is used in Naruto.
- Yang
Full Yang: Vermilion Bird of the South
Karin was stationed in Orochimaru's Southern Hideout.
New Yang: Blue Dragon of the East
The Blue Dragon is associated to the Chinese element of Wood.
Heaven (or Void), theoretically, is its Japanese counterpart and is replaced by Lightning in Naruto.
Sasuke has elemental affinity with Lightning.
An alternative to this may point out how Suigetsu would complement Sasuke:
- Yin
Suigetsu may be associated to both the White Tiger of the West and Black Tortoise of the North. - Yang
Sasuke may be associated to both Blue Dragon of the East and Vermilion Bird of the South.
The Sasuke and Suigetsu team-up, however, may not fare as great as Naruto and Sasuke.
Metal, after all, does not exist as an element in the series.
Sasuke's teamwork with Suigetsu involved consecutive attacks at best.
Yin and Yang should be complementary and this is most conspicuous in Sasuke's teamwork with Naruto,
for example, the combination of Fūton: Rasenshuriken and Enton: Kagutsuchi.
PART II
Important Note: The following diagram follows the set-up of the Four Celestial Emblems. The Yellow Dragon of the Center, based on Chinese mythology (it does not have a Japanese equivalent), is associated to the element of Earth.
The 4th Character Official Databook released the chakra nature types of several characters, including members of Team Hawk.

Sasuke is all-encompassing but with emphasis on his affinities with Fire and Lightning.
Based on these, he may be most complementary with Suigetsu and/or Jūgo.
Based on Yin and Yang Styles, he may be most complementary with Karin.
